Other Sports Heroes

Although my three all-time favorites sports heroes were Joe Namath, Pete Maravich, and Muhammad Ali, I've had other favorite athletes along the way.  Here are some of the others, with a bio or my reasons for liking them.

---JENNIFER CAPRIATI ---
Jennifer Capriati sprang onto the professional WTA tennis scene in 1990 as a 13-year-old teenager.  Her career was somewhat of a emotional roller coaster, including a year-long personal hiatus, but capped off with brilliant wins at the Australian and French Opens in 2001.  Her career achievements include an Olympic gold medal in 1992, the #1 women's ranking in 2001, three Grand Slam medals, and induction into the Professional Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012.  She was also voted by Tennis Magazine as #36 in their list of the 40 greatest tennis players of all time.

  ---LEE TREVINO---
One of the most laughable and lovable figures to ever grace the professional golf world, Lee Trevino won six major championships in his career, being only one of four players to ever twice win the U.S. Open, PGA, and British Open championships.  Many golfers laud the accomplishments and personalities of such golfing celebrities as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, but there was and will forever only be one "SuperMex."
